Meet Heather Abdalla, FNP, Bath Community Health

Heather Abdalla, FNP, Bath Community Health

Heather brings 20 years of nursing experience to Bath Community Health, including work in critical care, wound care, and the burn trauma ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital. Board-certified in Wound Care, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2016. She enjoys family medicine because it encompasses everything, allowing her to build relationships with her patients, support them in finding a lifestyle that works for them, and help prevent chronic diseases.

Her areas of intrest are engaging in a holistic approach to care, women’s health, adolescent health, geriatrics, and wound care as well as our aging population. Diabeties has become another area she focuses on as the need increases in the community.

She wanted to work at a community health center because of the many resources available to patients which isn’t often the case. Access to mental health resources is a huge benefit to patients. Enjoys that she now has the ability to care for everyone, no matter what their financial or insurance situation is.

Family is very important to her and she makes time for them. In fact, it was her grandmother whose cancer treatment has an affect on her to become a nurse.

“My approach to healthcare is to understand the needs of my patients and meet them where they are. Little steps to healthy habits, tailored to their needs.”
